Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

Radioprotection : Hygiene problems, 1st year

This course is an introduction to human radiopathology. It considers teh various pathological effects that results from exposure to ionizing ardiations in man.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Radioprotection : Hygiene problems, 1st year

To understand and describe the risks associated with the exposure to ionizing radiations:
Determinist effects
partial irradiation
whole body irradiation
Stochastic effects
genetic effects
radiation-induced cancers
Intra-uterine exposure
Risks associated with low-dose exposure

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Radioprotection : Hygiene problems, 1st year

None. The first session is dedicated to a refresher course summarizing the elements of nuclear physics and radiation biology that are necessary to understand this course.
