Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of the lectures is to give the students a basic knowledge on physical electromagntism. Focus is put on an intuitive and phenomenological presentation in order to devlop some physical sense. This organisation is supposed to facilitate the access to more complete formalism during the following years of studies. The lectures' content is set into the story of physics.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Elementary skills on mathematics and physics at the level of secondary school. Is also needed PHYS2020- Physique 1 : Mécanique
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Laboratory experiments as well as series of exercices are organized. These activities take place with smaller groups for encouraging the inter-activity.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
A total of 20h of theoretical lectures and 20h of exercices/laboratories is planned. Theoretical lecures are ex cathedra and mainly concern the explanation of fundamental concepts. During training meetings, this theoretical knowledge is applied. In both types of lessons, a special care is taken for emphasizing the role played by the different concepts in the work of engineers. Lectures are organized during both halves of the academic year. Due to technical reasons on the Faculty side, some time delay can be observed bewteen laboratory exercices and their explanation during theoretical talks. Links between the present lecture and the physical mechanics one are used ; this lecture is thus needed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written evaluation on june. Theoretical concepts and exercices are asked.
Laboroatory exam is organized in june. The students are asked to re-do and explain an experimental setup presented during school time.
REmark : Following the Faculty of Applied Science rule, the oral exam are no more organized.
