Learning unit contents
National interuniversity course covering all aspects of the practice of medical oncology (diagnosis, staging, treatment)
Local lectures in addition to the national interuniversity course covering all aspects of the multidisciplinary treatment of cancer
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Improving progressively the knowledge necessary for the practice of medical oncology at the end of a 3 year cycle. Details of the requested knowledge teached during this course are defined in the belgian law ("moniteur belge")
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Good theoretical and practical knowledge of internal medicine (teached during year 1-3 of the master in medical oncology)
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
All the year the candidate has practical activities within a "plan de stage" validated
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
All teaching activities are face-to-face
Recommended or required readings
Personal reading of reference books or journals should be done on a regular basis
The candidate has to take notes during the teaching activities
Assessment methods and criteria
National interuniversity examination; according to the results additional evaluation locally can be requested (only in case of poor performance at the national examination)
Evaluation of th epractice of oncology locally (maitre de stage)
