Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is divided into two main parts: a review of the grammar on the one hand (with the syllabus English level 1), and an introduction to business vocabulary on the other hand (with the Business Partner).
The exercises are integrated in the course and do not make up a separate course. They include grammar exercises, listening and reading comprehension as well as communication activities based on Business Partner. The course requires active participation on the students' part, notably during in-class debates and case studies organised in groups.
The student will also have to study a part of the basic vocabulary from "Le Bled", on which he will be interrogated at the mid-term tests as well as at the January and June exams.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
The course is taught 3 hours a week (2+1). The in-class course is taught to groups of about 50 students. The students will be divided according to their level of English; a placement test will be organised on Monday 17 September in class.
Students are required to prepare every week the grammar exercises and the activities from the Business Partner. They also have to review the basic vocabulary from "Le Bled".

_____________________________________________________

SECOND SESSION
The following parts will be taken into account in the calculation of the final mark:
a) written exam (70%):
- grammar/vocabulary (Q1 + Q2) = 50%
- skills (reading and listening comprehensions, writing) = 50%
NB: among the three parts mentioned above (grammar/voc, skills, oral), those which are not failed in June (above 10/20) will still be taken into account in the calculation of the second session's final note (except if students wish to re-take the concerned parts, in which case the mark obtained in August will replace June's, be it better or worse).
