Learning unit contents
The aim of this course is to improve the knowledge and the know-how acquired by the student, on a linguistic level (structures, specific vocabulary)and in the understanding of German (business-) culture.
Taught in German - and in French for grammar explanations
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim to achieve is level B1/B1+
In connection with the KLOs, this course aims at helping the students:
- to communicate efficiently in German, taking into account the multicultural and international features of their environment;
- to be curious and rigorours
- to take the context's specificity into account (social, economic, political, and environmental reality of German speaking countries);
- to show creativity and autonomy.
At the end of the year, the student should be able to communicate orally and in writing in German at the European level B1+. (European Language Portfolio)
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Having passed the exam in "Allemand avancé 1" of the first Bachelor year (LANG2005-1) or an european A2 level test.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Discovering different aspects of business life in Germany (vocabulary, cultural, and economical aspects).
Debates; presentations.
Online exercises (Lol@) and work to do in class or at home to improve the 4 skills (writing, reading, speaking, and understanding).
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
80 hours of lectures in class and homework.

Assessment methods and criteria
Tests during the year, presence in class is compulsary (10%).
Written exam (50%):
January and June: Grammar and vocabulary exercises and essay
June: Listening comprehension
Oral exam (40%):
During the year: Presentation with another student of a topic based on an article
June: Questions on the course contents and presentation of articles
Students have to take all the different parts of the examination, otherwise the final mark will be 0/20
