- Main literary movements from the 17th century to the 19th century
- Mainly French literary movements

Students will be able to explain the specificities of literary movements analized during the course.

Readings, film projection and painting analysis.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Face-to-face; on Thursday from 08:00 to 10:00 (A4/R100).

- Students will have to read 3 books for the oral examination: 
 - PERRAULT, Charles, Contes de ma Mère l'Oye, Paris, Gallimard, 2006. 
- VOLTAIRE, Lettres philosophiques, Paris, Gallimard, 2015 or VOLTAIRE, Contes, Paris, Gallimard, 2015. 
- FLAUBERT, Madame Bovary, Paris, Gallimard, 2001. 

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination in June on the three books and on the subject of the second semester.
