Learning unit contents

The lecture includes all aspects related to geological risk : hazards, vulnerability, disaster response, risk mitigation...
applied to earthquakes, mass movements, volcanic ... with focus on hazard coupling mechanisms.
Both scientific and socio-economic aspects are considered.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The goal is to understand the coupling between hazards as well as the link between hazard and risk.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Good knowledge of English and maths. (lecture given in English)

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Development and computation of (earthquake) risk scenarios

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

6 lectures of 3h, 
2 sessions of 3h of exercices (scenarios) and seminars
4 field days (with geophysics) in the Carpathian Mountains (Vrancea seismic region), in Romania.
