Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

This course deals with the application of least squared adjustment to topometric computations. A large part of the course is dedicated to the application of the theory of errors and to the use of some specific statistical tests in topometry.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Enable the student to apply the theory of errors (variance propagation / least-squares) to topometric computations (levelling, traversing, network).
Enable the student to evaluate the quality of topometric computations output including output of computing commercial software.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

theory of errors and basic land surveying

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Theory, tutorials, practicals. Problem-based approach.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Face-to-face and autonomous work.

Recommended or required readings

Assessment methods and criteria

Continuous evaluation (reports and practicals) and oral exam (written preparation)
