This course is part of the Master in Transport Management. This is an interuniversity master program whose courses are held in Brussels. Additional information about the program and courses is available on the website of the inter-university research center for mobility (CIEM) (http://www.ciem.be). This course is composed of three complementary themes:

  • Analysis and economic evaluation of transport - 18h
  • Techno-economic evaluation of transport - 18h
  • Socio-economic and environmental evaluation of transport - 9h
The first theme introduces the basic concepts of economic analysis applied to the sector, especially focusing on the fundamental concept of optimal allocation of resources. The second theme presents the structure and the determinants of the cost of operating transport services and appropriate assessment tools in the field. The third theme focuses on the identification, quantification and monetization of socio-economic and environmental impacts.

Skills necessary for understanding, evaluating and implementating the optimal allocation of the ressources in the transport sector.

Technical-economic evaluation of transport

Skills necessary for understanding and implementation of procedures and techniques of economic, socio-economic and techno-economic evaluation, both in terms of infrastructure and services and transport policies.
