Learning unit contents
The course contains an introduction to law, divided into six modules, as stated in the course outcome. Each module is taught by a different professor, using cases or concepts that can be interesting to engineering students.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of the course is to bring to light the rules and legislation in the different fields of law, that regulate concrete situations, which "engineers" will encounter in their future professional lives.
The modules are the following:
- Judicial organisation, penal law and liability, by Vanessa FRANSSEN, full professor;
- Contracts and insights into real estate law, by Christine BIQUET-MATHIEU and Pascale LECOCQ, full professors;
- Commercial law, by Roman AYDOGDU, responsible for the course;
- Intellectual rights, by Bernard VANBRABANT, responsible for the course;
- Labour law, by Jacques CLESSE, professor;
- Regulatory approval and federalism, by Cecile VERCHEVAL, Judge.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
The course is taught in the first four months of the academic year, on Tuesday between 10h45 and 12h45. The six modules are divided into 12 or 13 classes of two hours.

The teachers will provide notes of the course or a very detailed plan.
Assessment methods and criteria
Final written examination in january and september. A collection of the legislation will be provided to the students; only this collection can be used during the exam.
