Learning unit contents

For non-lawyers, the course describes, in broad terms, legal issues posed by the working man and man without work and the diversity of responses through time and space. A historical and comparative approach is preferred to a statement of positive law, in order to adapt to the needs of students in the human science.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course the student is able to understand the issues of social law, it relates to the collective labor relations (right to strike, unions responsibility, ...) or individual (safety, equality of workers, ...), the social security law or employment policy and vocational training.

The syllabus is available at Presses universitaires de Liège. A scientific study will be communicated during the year.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written examination.
A test will be organised. Students will get an extra point of 0.5 for the exam (out of 20) if they get between 10 and 13 out of 20, and of 1.0 if they get 14 or more out of 20. This bonus will be valid for both sessions.
