It is a lecture of the EMSHIP ERASMUS MUNDUS MASTER DEGREE (WWW.EMSHIP.EU)
Advantages of composite materials. Properties of polymeric matrix: polyester, epoxy, PUR. Description of properties of reinforcement: glass, carbon, Kevlar, bore, silicium. Comparison with other materials. Description of composites: isotropic, anisotropic, tubes and reservoirs, sandwich, boats. Models for composite materials. Simplified methods for calculation. Fabrication methods.

Types of welding (full penetration, butt, ...) in connection with domain of applications and the thickness to be considered, modern technologies of welding (automatic, semi automatic, laser, ....), modes of calculation, make industrial use (cost), ....

The exercices on the composites materials include some experimental labs. This activity is obligatory.
