Learning unit contents
This course consists in participating to the scientific events offered by the Social and Cultural Anthropological Laboratory (LASC) throughout the academic year.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Becoming familiar with various anthropological fields, subjects and fieldworks based on research carried out by anthropologists and other social science researchers. Becoming aware of anthropological debates, and also in relation with other fields. Developping critical analysis skills. Becoming able to use methodological and theorical knowledge for participating in scientific debates.

Passive English knowledge.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
Students are required to attend and participate the events offered by the LASC throughout the year (both 1st and 2nd quatrimesters).
Recommended or required readings
Articles related to scientific events can be found on myUliège "Supports de cours" tab. Reading this literature is required for the oral exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final mark is based on (1) the participation in scientific events, (2) the reading and understanding of related articles, and (3) an oral exam organised in May/June (more information in myULiege "Supports de cours" tab).
ATTENTION: no exam in January.
ATTENTION: Attendance to at least 8 units is required (1 conference = 1 unit; half-day workshop/symposium/... = 1 unit).
Failing that, the final mark will be subject to the following penalty:
- - 1 point per missing unit
- if less than 6 units, the course is to repeat the following year

Organizational remarks
Scheduling of scientific events countig for this learning unit is transmitted as the activities are planned. Announcement is posted on valves in front of the FaSS Apparitorat (B31) and sent by mail via myULiege. Attendance is recorded by signing a list of participants.
