Learning unit contents
After an introduction on the anthropological approach to economic processes, the course will come back on classical themes in this disciplinary subfield, namely the gift, market, and consumption. In the second part of the course, we will analyse in more details one or several topical issues such as capitalism, corporate governance, informal economies, and/or the future of work.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To introduce students to theories and methods in economic anthropology. At the end of the course students will be able to analyze from an original and critical point economic processes going on in our increasingly globalized world.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
To have an interest in rethinking economic analysis, and accordingly, in reflecting with new conceptual tools upon the economic and social changes of our time.
