Definition and context of TPE - TPE process: identify educational needs - negotiate objectives - learning tool strategies - patient assessment - TPE research - TPE at different ages in life - TPE and cultural diversity - TPE and invalidity - TPE and new technologies - TPE applied to different diseases
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim is to enable students to master the basic concepts of therapeutic patient education and apply them in clinical situations.
Students will be able integrate a team by providing theoretical elements and links between theory and practice in every part of the TPE process associated with chronic patients.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Methods: presentations, talks, debates, exercises.
Interactive classes. First of all, students are asked to think about and comment on a scenario relating to a particular theme, in small groups. The students' opinions are collected. Notions and illustrations relating to the theme are presented and discussed. Finally, the learning objectives are defined.
