Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The course aims at deepen and formalise the notions of electromagnetism taught in the first year. The course covers electrostatics, magnetostatics, electrodynamics, Maxwell's equations, conservation laws and electromagnetic radiation.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of the course consists in teaching electromagnetism and Maxwell's equations in their differential form.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Physics and mathematics learned during 1st block
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
See next section
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
The course is organized during the 2nd period. Theory: 25h Training sessions: 15h
Recommended or required readings
The slides of the theoretical course and a collection of exercices will be made available on myULg (pdf files).
Recommended book : "Introduction to electrodynamics", D. J. Griffiths, Prentice Hall
