Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To provide basics in mathematics to students majoring in bioengineering, with initiation to the main tools of integral calculus (one variable) and their applications in problem analysis and solution.
After completing the course, the student is expected to
- to do approximation by way of Taylor polynomials
- to apply integral calculus (one variable) to area and volume
- to analyse the convergence of a serie
- to work with complex numbers
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Differential and integral calculus of Belgian secundary schools with 4 hours/week in mathematics
