The first part will deal with an aspect of a general literary question relating to 17th-century (this year literature and philosophy, in particular libertinism); The second part will provide an example (this year : Molière).

Students will be encouraged to develop a deeper view of the seventeenth-century French literature, of its historical background and favorite forms. This will mean direct contact with various texts written by one or more authors and possibly with various documents.
