Learning unit contents

The aim of this course is to improve the knowledge and the know-how acquired by the student on a linguistic level (structures, vocabulary) taking into account the multicultural and international features of their environment.
Taught in German - and in French for grammar explanations

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

In connection with the KLOs, this course aims to help the students: - to communicate efficiently in German, taking into account the multicultural and international features of their environment; - to be curious and rigorous. At the end of the year, the student should be able to communicate orally and in writing in German at the European level A2+/B1-. He should be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance, to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters and to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment. Prerequisite knowledge and skills

European A2 level (the learner can read and understand simple messages and communicate in simple terms)

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Written and oral exercises.
Debates based on short articles and videos.
Working with the textbook "Unternehmen Deutsch"

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Course one hour/week  and homework

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam (90 %):
In January Grammar and vocabulary exercises and short essay
Listening comprehension about episodes of the series « Jojo sucht das Glück » (Deutsche Welle) ;
In June Grammar and vocabulary exercises and short essay. Listening comprehension about "Unternehmen Deutsch"

Oral exam (20 %): in-class participation: 10 %.
Students have to take all the different parts of the examination, otherwise the final mark will be 0/20
