Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course aims to introduce the tools of immunodetection methods. The basic tools are antibodies. We will introduce the principles of immunological techniques and the choice between different strategies used to produce antibodies and other tools as an alternative will be discussed. The student will understand the current applications of immunological techniques and to propose the outline of an experimental approach to solve a problem related to the immuno-detection.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Introduction to immunology and biochemistry
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The exercises are intended to illustrate the course by the simulation of immunodetections problems. Work practices illustrate some major achievements in the field chosen in different application areas: the case of aptamers. In practical work, students will learn about the influence of supports dedicated to immunodetection and perform some experiments of immunodetection through the development of ELISA and Western blot.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
