Theme of the "Option Paysage" 2017-2018 : Great Landscape - Development of the Landscape Observatory for the Brussels Region
The Option Paysage will deal with the "Great Landscape" as Everyday Landscape which is perceived by the inhabitants, visitors and users, on the all territory of the Brussels Region. We are talking here about the living / experienced landscape.
The task of the Option will be to identify the Great Landscape, register, define the tools for the cartography and find the methodologies for the landscape renewal. 
It will be developed in close collaboration with IBGE, the Brussels Institute for the Environment; results of the work will be presented during the next Landscape Biennal in 2018.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The Option Paysage consists in a pluridisciplinary interventions, starting with the landscape as central element, included in the territorial project and urban planning, as well as the role of the landscape in the sustainable city, considering also the aspects of territorial ecology, regional development, sustainable urbanism, workshops and case studies linked to the theme - here the elaboration of the first Landscape Observatory of the Brussels Region.
