Learning unit contents

The student must find a traineeship location related to a theme chosen in accordance with his/her tutor, produce the necessary documents to be able to begin his/her traineeship (traineeship agreement, task/activity roster), regularly inform the professor regarding the progress and status of his/her traineeship research, complete his/her traineeship and draft a traineeship report.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the traineeship, the student will be able to:
- Explore a professional field and find an interlocutor in the same field;
- Adapt to and become integrated in a professional environment while discovering one or more skills;
- Perform specific and predefined tasks/activities and make proposals;
- Collect various kinds of information at the traineeship location;
- Draft a summary report and submit the content to the host organisation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

All the activities fall within the following broad lines:
- Research and completion of a traineeship;
- Actual exposure to teaching given in the M1 programme in anthropology (and the Bachelor's programme) using tasks/activities to be completed;
- Collection of material on location (grey literature regarding the institution, regulations, training materials, organisational charts, legislation, instructions, plans, etc.).

Assessment methods and criteria

The final grade will be established based on the professor's continuous evaluation, the traineeship report and the supervisor's evaulation (cf. the assessment grid). This summary report should be no longer than 10 pages (not including annexes; font size 11; spacing 1.5) and includes, in addition to the description and a first analysis of the content of the traineeship, a reflective section devoted to an evaluation of the personal experiences, the student's contributions to the host organisation and the final presentation given by the student to the host organisation. An appendix should be attached that provides the materials collected during the traineeship but not yet analysed (grey literature regarding the institution, regulations, training materials, legislation, instructions, plans, etc.).

Organizational remarks

The traineeship will be carried out during the academic year, with the exception of the periods reserved for examinations. It is preferable for it to be carried out during the second quarter.
