Learning unit contents

General presentation of the archaeological research in Syria. This year, this course will be delivered by Barbara Couturaud. Courses will deal more particularly with the questions relating to the figurative representations from the Early Bronze Age period without neglecting the archaeological contexts.

Introduction to the Syrian archaelogy in the frame of the archaeology of the Near East.
Iconography of the Early Bronze Age

To have attended the general lecture during the 1st year of study entitled "History of art and archaeology : ancient Near East".

Regular attendance in class. Reading books specified in the bibliography.
