Learning unit contents
The course starts on Friday 9/22 2pm, room N1-034. Participation to this information and registering session is essential and mandatory. A schedule compatible with the registered students agendas will be fixed.
The following topics will be addressed :
- Information systems, applications and programs ;
- Conceptual process analysis and modeling ;
- Modeling language ;
- Web applications development tools.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course will allow students to understand the scientific and technological context of a complex situation and will train them to capitalize on the characteristics of a more and more digitalized world when confronted with a complex situation. After taking this course, students will be able to
- Define the concepts of information systems, business process and modeling technique ;
- Draw business processes schemas, specifying their conceptual aspects, using a formal notation ;
- Participate, as a knowledgeable user, in the development of an information system.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
- Essential principles of programming and databases. These prerequisites may have been acquired in mandatory courses INFO0076 Computing in management engineering or INFO0074 Computer Science for economists and managers.
- Erasmus students must contact the teacher by e-mail before registering.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- Theoretical presentation and practical work during the same session.
- A laptop computer witth the stack LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) installed in a physical or virtual machine, is indispensable.
- Preparation of the sessions with an on-line course.
- Final project : case chosen by the students. Completely autonomous individual project. A written analysis report is due and will be presented during the exam.

- Individual oral examination. [40%]
