Learning unit contents

The course will be organized in the form of seminars and visits whose topics will be :
Biology and identification of fish,
Fish breeding (artificial reproduction,...)
Fish breeding : cyprinids and salmonids,
Management of the aquatic environment,
Knowledge of the settlements,
River legislation and competent directions working in Walloon Region,
Fishing in Wallonia,
Management Strategies of the piscicultural stockings in Wallonia,
Piscicultural installations (fish scales).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Understanding the general biology of fish.
Knowledge of the organisation of fish farming.
Grasping the management technics of fish populations.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- Knowing biology and identifying main fish species
- Better understanding working of competent directions in Walloon Region
- Mastering management technics of fish populations
- Identifying characteristics and difficulties of fish breeding
