Learning unit contents

That course comprizes 45h of pratical courses each semester.
The practical courses aims to improve the motor experience improvement of the students focusing on their personnal needs on health and professional knowledge and the acquisition of a sport ethics (correctness, punctuality, sense of effort...).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The pratical courses are designed to provide personal experience to the students and to propose information helping them to use movement as a rehabilitation tool.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The motor requirements are not high. It is not worthy that a large sport experience can be helpful. Moreover, swimming is one determining skill as an test is planned at the end of the year.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Three basic activities are proposed: overall physical activities (APG), swimming and team sports. Three sessions are proposed each week. The overall physical activities provided an experience of physical activities designed to improve fitness and to illustrate physical education methods. Swimming units builds the basis needed to work in an aquatic environment used in readaptation).
It is noteworthy that the students must attend to the sessions. Their presence is checked at the beginning of each lesson.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

The practical courses are proposed three times per week.

A pdf version of the documents needed for the learning is posted on the Website myULg. Students have sometimes to find themselves other references.

Assessment methods and criteria

Concerning the practical courses, each assistant provides his/her evaluation based on the achievement level of the student (20 points) and on his/her involvement (improvement, behaviour 5 points). When the student did not participate enough, he/she receives a penalty but if he/she participated regularly, he/she receives a bonus. Those students who have a high rate of non attendance or poor behaviour could be not allowed to participate to the exams (theory and practical). See information profided verbally by the assistants.

Organizational remarks

Students must be correctly dressed. Clothes must be in a unique colour, without advertising elements, clean (shoes for indoor activities). Legal swimming clothes are expected for aquatic activities.
