Only the elements of Fortran/Linux used in climatology will be teach.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The lectures aim to familiarize the students to some computer tools (Linux, Fortran and Ferret) used to process the climate data and, to run and analyze the climate models.

CLIM0014-1 Programmation au service de la climatologie (partim 1)

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The exercises asked every week will be mainly do during the tutorials where the teacher will be present to help the students.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

This course is based on the concept "project-based learning" i.e. every week, the student has to resolve a programming exercises for the next week. The theoretical basis will be teach in the previous lecture.

Reference articles are presented to the students during the first lesson.
The pdf files of the lecture slides are available for the students on http://www.climato.be/cours

Assessment methods and criteria
