Learning unit contents
The course will be focused on physiological and morphological differentiations in microorganisms. The selected examples will be discussed in the context of the microorganism's ecological niche and molecular mechanisms will be detailed. Phenomenon related to bacterial dormancy, and secondary metabolite production will be presented, amongst others.

Assessment methods and criteria
The student will make a %7E15 minutes talk of an publication related to one of the themes approached in the course. The talk will be followed by a discussion about the content of the selected article as well as on the corresponding subject of the course. The student will thus be estimated on his/her capacity to orally expose and discuss the major results stemming from a publication.
