Learning unit contents :

| Philological analysis of various specific issues related to various types of ancient Greek and Latin texts, as well as to Latin and Greek diachronic and synchronic linguistics. The course will use all the resources of contemporary philology (computer and statistical tools, linguistic and stylistic approaches, etc.). It will include personal work (including reading and / or account of scientific paper) and could require the memorization of lexical lists and / or grammatical models. It will combine translations (themes and versions) with exercises on grammar, prosody, metrics, restitution of missing text and overall understanding of the meaning of a text. | |||||||||||

Learning outcomes of the learning unit :

| At the end of the course, students will have the methodological skills to analyze specific philological issues and will be familiar with the use of various research instruments in the fields of philology, linguistics and stylistics of ancient languages. They will also improve their knowledge of both languages, their practice of version and theme, as well as their expertise in translation and philological commentary of Greek and Latin authors. | |||||||||||
