Learning unit contents :
The objective of this course is to tackle a theme frequently encountered in clinical practice in Geriatric Medicine (eg, fear of falling, depression, disability) or psychological treatment technique (eg, reminiscence) that is applicable in this context. 
Several concepts will first be described (eg what is the fear of falling, what about its prevalence, its causes and consequences, and so on; what is the reminiscence, do different types of reminiscence exist ? etc.). On this basis, existing interventions will be developed. Finally, special attention will be given to the use of these techniques in a geriatric context and the potential role of the psychologist.
The selection of topics may change from year to year, notably depending on recent publications in the literature.
Finally, some themes are chosen for their relevance of being addressed at the end of course, benefiting from past courses and experience gained by students during their internship.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
In this course, students will not only supplement the knowledge which they acquired in psychology of aging, but also will allow them to gain a logic of reflection and of intervention in geriatric. At the end of the course, students must be capable to position themselves as a psychologist.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Having completed the courses of the Psychology option of senescence, and preferably having an internship on this theme.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Course given in the form of seminars with oral presentations by students. The themes will be given at the beginning of the course and monitoring of the work (especially in the form of one or several sessions of questions and answers) will be provided at the request of students.

Papers or book chapters dealing with the topics seen during the course.
Assessment methods and criteria :
The assessment takes into consideration the following elements: 
- Oral presentation of the student's synthesis on the topic that he has addressed in his bibliographical research: quality of the presentation (in terms of both content and form). The presentation lasts 1 hour and is followed by an exchange of questions and answers.
- Written report of +/- 20 pages on the topic discussed.
