Presentation
This course should enable participants to:
- Critically evaluate medical-economic studies.
- Evaluate the profitability, effectiveness and utility of therapeutic or preventative options.
- Be able to assess, in economic terms, the choice of medical investments.
- Understand the concept of pharmacoeconomics and its impact on how the cost of drugs is reimbursed.
- Be able to provide relevant information in terms of economic evaluations to decision makers in the health sector.
- Integrate ethical considerations into medical-economic decisions.
- Identify the various healthcare structures in the Belgian healthcare environment.
Special conditions of access / students concerned
This training targets nurses (with a Masters), doctors, pharmacists or other professionals who are active in the healthcare sector (minimum three years experience). Applicants not meeting these conditions will be examined by the organising committee on the basis of a more extensive application file. Number of registrations: Maximum 30 students.
Duration of the training
One semester (6 Fridays and 2 Saturdays mornings) : 10 ECTS

Assessment
