Legal framework
A.M. of 26/04/1982 (MB: 01/07/1982): Ministerial Decree setting the special criteria for approving specialist doctors, internship supervisors and intern departments for stomatology.
Presentation
Surgical speciality which includes specific training (dento-facial orthopaedics, gnathology ...) leading to the practice of surgery on the face and the oral cavity in its various aspects (traumatology, osteotomies, cancerology...). It incorporates a surgical approach and knowledge of dental pathology and treatments of the dental organ (Masters/degree in dental science) combined with specialisation in oral pathology (maxillary lesions and lesions of the jaw).
Special conditions of access / students concerned
This course is aimed at doctors who have specialised or who are in their final year of specialisation in rheumatology and who are authorised to practice in Belgium.
Interested individuals should contact the head of the course to discuss their application (selection competition).
Holders of non-EU diplomas should contact the Admissions Department (Certificate of Partial Specialisation Training).

  • Four years of study (60 ECTS a year)

Assessment
Evaluation after the first two years: presentation of two clinical cases, one chosen by the candidate and the other given by the jury and evaluation of the internships.
The certificate is awarded on condition of having passed the exams and the internships.
