| Presentation | ||||||||||||||||
| Pain is one of the most frequent symptoms that makes patients first go to their GP and then a certain number of consultants. One adult in five in Europe (and 23 % of Belgians) suffer from chronic pain that affects the quality of their social and professional life, and is ultimately a public health problem. The ¿biopsychosocial¿ model offers a horizontal and multidisciplinary approach to pain, with the goal of reducing it as much as possible, while maximising the patient¿s quality of life, autonomy and mobility. Healthcare professionals require specific training concerning this approach. |
