Course contents :
Following the theoretical learning of the research process in social sciences (part I), the second part of the research seminar aims to construct collectively ans step by step a research project. 
Learning outcomes of the course :
At the end of the seminar, the student must be able to construct a rigourous research project and to put all the principles learned in the first part into practice.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The different steps of the research process will be put into practice studying one object: the service relationship (relationship between a professional and a service user). 
This research object will be presented during the first session from a theoretical point a view. Concrete examples will also be provided. 
A literature review concerning the service relationship will be constructed collectively (bibliographical research, presentation of selected papers, discussion and connections of these scientific resources). 
Students will conduct two interviews about the service relationship with any resource person they will choose. 
A working paper presenting the link between theoretical and empirical elements will be written and presented in class. 
The aim of this collective approach is to consolidate and realize the learning of the first partim. It is also to help students to think about their master thesis.

Assessment methods and criteria :
  • Working paper: 75% of the final result
  • Oral presentation: 25% of the final result
