Presentation and illustration of the main trends in research in the field of globalization
Presentation and illustration of the main trends in research in the field of sociology of social movements.
Presentation and illustration of contemporary movements and organizations in developing countries linked to the theme of globalization.

Learning outcomes of the course :

General introduction to a specialised area of sociology.
Knowledge of and critical approach to the main theoretical schools and leading authors.
Introduction to the problems of globalization through the social movements and civil organizations relating to it.
Questioning of the analysis of contemporary movements linked to globalization through the mobilizations and protests of developing countries, especially in South World..

30 hours course (theory), given in the second term, on Fridays from 12 noon-2.30 pm.
