Course contents :
1. The concepts of the "group" and "group dynamics".
2. The historical origins and theories of group dynamics.
3. Research methods and ways of acting in groups.
4. Group links and group cohesion.
5. Communication within groups.
6. Roles within groups.
7. Influence and leadership in groups.
8. Emotional and imaginary phenomena in groups.
9. Groups in the workplace.
10. Group practices and the demands of professionalism.
Learning outcomes of the course :
1. To understand the basic conceptual and epistemological frameworks of group dynamics.
2. To acquire the theoretical foundations required for decoding the main group phenomena.
3. The raise students' awareness of the main methodological aspects of leading a work group.
4. To acquire personal experience of joining a small group in a "training laboratory" situation.
5. To put the professional opportunities posed by group dynamics into perspective.
6. To develop a critical approach to group dynamics, its theories and practices.
