Relations between the anatomical and functional development of cerebral structures and the development of linguistic functions in a life span perspective
Course chapters
Early language developement and its neural correlates. Aquired aphasia in children. Linguistic disorders in epilepsy (Landau-Kleffner). Linguistic disorders in genetic syndromes. Language development in children with Spina bifida. Language comprehension difficulties in children with autism spectrum disordrers and in children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Anomia in normal ageing. Language in Alzheimer disease and in semantic dementia.
Learning outcomes of the course :
To understand the relations between the anatomical and functional development of cerebral structures and the development of linguistic functions by considering the impact of cerebral lesions or anomalies on linguistic function. To get familiarized with neurolinguistic pathologies
