Course contents :

| This course explores the notions of "norm(s)" and "variation(s)" - two key notions in sociolinguistics - in the context of the history of the Dutch language. | ||

Learning outcomes of the course :

| 1) General understanding of linguistic change and changes to the Dutch language in particular. 2) Ability to use specialised literature in a critical manner, with the aim of deepening the student's knowledge in this field. | ||

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :

| Understanding of spoken and written Dutch. If required, this course can be linked to other curriculum courses: Preceded by: History of the Dutch language (BAC 2) | ||
