The module will address the following topics:


  • Quantitative & dynamical approaches in biology;
  • Present mathematical modelling: advantages, limitations and facets;
  • Introduction to system properties such as stability, sensitivity and robustness;
  • Biological examples from gene regulation and metabolism over intra and inter-cellular signalling,...
 
Learning outcomes of the course :
At the end of this module, the students will be able to:
  • understand and exploit the theoretical and practical considerations of mathematical modelling of biological systems;
  • design and analyse mathematical models of biochemical reaction systems;
