| The course aims to be a seminar on landscape aesthetics and ethics.
It makes links between aesthetics and ethics. It confronts different conceptions of ethics with the practice of the landscape architect's profession: - moral of happiness (Epicurus and stoicism), - moral of balance (Aristotle), - moral of duty (Kant), - intelligence of historical necessity (Hegel), - complementarity of convictions and of responsibility (Weber), - ethics of environmental responsibility (Jonas) - aesth-ethics (Audi) It develops thinking and discussions on aesthetic and moral dilemmas about landscape. It raises questions about societal projects underlying choices on landscape and on the responsibilities of the landscape architect in particular. |
