Course contents :
The main part is Town and Country Planning Law and, when needed, related matters as Natura 2000, Cultural heritage, Soil pollution, Takings. We also have a glance at the State Real Estate Law.
We focus on black letter Law. Main chapters: Planning, permits, information, sanction, compensation for regulatory takings.
A new Code has been enacted by parliament (Official Gazette, September 15, 2014: "Décret du 24 avril 2014 abrogeant les articles 1er à 128 et 129quater à 184 du Code wallon de l'Aménagement du Territoire, de l'Urbanisme, du Patrimoine et de l'Energie et formant le Code du développement territorial") but it is not still in force and new drafts are now in preparation. So, the course focuses on both positive law and forthcoming evolution.
Learning outcomes of the course :
The aim of the course is to give the student the knowledge of real estate administrative law so that he or she could practice as a legal consultant in that field.

Cases are discussed during the lectures

Mainly ex cathedra.

- the new CODT.
Case Law is also important and the main cases will be highlighted.
