Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| Partim-Regulations and standards :
- To understand the regulation framework
- To know the main constraints regarding food safety and quality of horticultural products, in the context of the global warming and climate change
- To know the main private standards for horticulture
- To understand the impacts of private certification
Partim-Cultivated plants Systematics:
- To assess the development of botanical systematics as an important plant science
- To understand how and why plants are systematically classified
- To identify the critical botanical differencies between economically important groups
- To master botanical and horticultural terminology
- To understand the use of phenotypical and molecular markers for horticultural variety description
- To argue the identification conditions of a genotype
Partim-Climate management :
- Understand the impact of greenhouse on greenhouse climate in relation with outside climate.
- Understand exchange mechanisms of CO2, H2O and energy between crop and the environment.
- Understand the impact of greenhouse climate on H2O, CO2 and energy budget.
-Identify the climate regulation allowing the optimisation of crop production.
Partim-Technologies used in protected, soilless and urban cultures:
- To know production techniques used in soilless horticulture (hydroponics, aquaponics, culture with substrate)
- To chose the correct technique depending to the socio economic and geographic context (urban vs countryside)
- To know and prepare nutritive solutions for soilless plants
- To know and regulate the parameters needed in soilless cultures
- To know the plant protection methods suitable for soilless cultures
