 General aspects of ETP: definition-epistemological anchorage-history-issues-objectives.
The role of the care-giver-educator/Long-term accompaniment of the patient.
Ethical aspects/Patients' rights.
Process of therapeutic education: Advert-Reception-Educational diagnostic-Objectives-Planning-Learning/teaching Activities -Conduct-Assessment (AADOPEACv-D.Leclercq).
List of competences-ASCID Model (D, Declercq): psychopedagogy of health.

Learning outcomes of the course :  
By the end of the course the student will be capable of joining a group and contributing his or her theoretical reasoning and links between theory and practice for each section of the course (AADOPEACEv) the treatment of a chronically ill patient : Announcements/ Reception/Diagnosis of educational requirements, negotiation of ETP objectives, ETP planning, design of educational and learning operations (events); review conduct, ETP evaluation.

Various methods : presentations, opinions, debates, exercises.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Face-to-face lectures. Reading at home (reading list supplied to the students). Interactive forum on internet.

The course notes will be distributed in the sessions and/or available on the My Ulg website. A reading list will be made available: compilation of required reading.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written work: assessment will be based on work submitted by the students. It will be preceded by a group oral presentation set out in the course programme to allow students to adjust their documents in relation to feedback from the supervisors and group members.
