 | The course insists on the importance of the aspects of relation in medicine. Medical psychology has the objective to add the humanist dimension to the doctor-patient relationship. The human being should be analyzed in its integrality according to a bio-psycho-social model integrating the levels of biology and medicine, the psychosocial aspects and the integration of social sciences.
The course focuses particularly to all aspects related to the communication with the patient.
The course comprises the following chapters : personality disorders with their consequences on the attitude of the patient and the recommendation for the doctor, the psychological consequences of illness, the patient-doctor relationship, the techniques of interview with the patient, bereavement, the doctor and the incurable illness, the aspects of medical psychology specific of child and adolescent and psychotherapies.
The teaching has the objective to provide to the student the theoretical bases necessary to the analysis of the relationship and the practical elements enable the student to deal in an adequate manner the communication with the patient. |
