Course contents :  
The theoretical cours is devided in 6 chapters each one covering a particular topic :
-Chap. I: Reminders of C++
-Chap. II:Numerical Integration
-Chap. III : Roots, minima and maxima of a function
-Chap. IV : Linear systems of equations
-Chap. V : Splines curves
-Chap. VI : Numerical solution of differential equations
Learning outcomes of the course :  
  • To learn using the computers to solve various problems encountered in physics.
  • To teach the related algorithms
  • To implement these algorithms in C/C++
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Basic notions of programming
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
10 afternoons.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
The theoretical and practical classes are given in the first quadrimestre. Practical classes are held in computers room at the 4th floor of the Physics building B5.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
Evaluation is weighed as follows
- 40% for written examination - 50% for practical examination (a code to write)
- 10% oral questions during the practical sessions
