The educational practices are not only individual professional practices: they have consequences on the efficiency of the action of the teacher/trainer, but they translate or convey a global vision of the ends of the education. That is why some of them are the object of debates in the media.
The course will put together three types of social speeches on the educational practices: the media speech, the scientific speech and the political speech. The media speech will serve as starting point of the analysis. Press articles, audiovisual sequences or debates on forums will serve as support to show how certain educational practices (for example, the case of the homework, the assessment practices) translate societal tensions around the ends of the education, and in particular the egalitarian vision of the school. Then, the media speech and the underlying societal tensions will be confronted with the state of the art in education, as well as with the legislative texts related to the educational practices.
The objective of the course is to allow the student to position or to reposition him/herself as citizen and as warned professional.
