Course contents :
 |
| This course aims to familiarize students with international surveys on achievement in education. The ultimate objective is to convince students to contextualize the interpretation of the results in the methodological context of the surveys.
The OECD PISA 2003 Initial Report (Learning for Tomorrow's World: first results from PISA 2003. OECD, 2004) will be the basis of the course.
Before each lecture, students are invited to carefully read a chapter of the report. A particular attention will be given to the understanding of the statistical tools. During the seminar, students will ask their questions. The professor will then expose a critic of the chapter. |
