Course contents :

| Definition of quality. Lack of quality in Production. The steps taken to address nonconformity. Quality management. Comprehensive quality policy.
Quality tools: Diagrams, Pareto, Ishikawa, Statistical Process Control and machine/process capability. The 5S, Kaizen, 6-sigma, Reengineering, QSE (Quality-Security-Environment). Concepts of certification and accreditation according to ISO-9000/2000 and ISO-17025 standards.
Exercises on Quality Tools and Methods.
Taking into account environmental aspects in product design.
Environmental management systems within companies.
Team management and leadership (maturity, strengths, skills and responsibilities of the leader, basics of team management and leadership, concept of excellence and efficiency, developing talent). |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| The objective of this course is to familiarize students with quality management in industrial activities and services. These activities cannot be organised without thorough consideration of the structures to be established in order to ensure optimal efficiency. The objective of this is to reduce production and operating costs but also, and more specifically, to meet the needs of clients (both external and internal).This course will be oriented towards practical work and will be based on the experience of people on the ground. After the theoretical presentations, the students will illustrate practical projects. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
 |
| After various lectures introducing quality and environmental management techniques, students will develop a comprehensive management system for a virtual company, a company related to their area of specialization. This work will be conducted in groups.
A quality manual and working procedures will be prepared.
This is a business game.
The final examination will be based on the presentation of this group work.
Other exercises will be devoted to the use of production monitoring tools.
Special lectures will be devoted to human behavior in the industrial environment and in society in general
Video, exercises and case studies will be used to illustrate the theoretical knowledge transferred in the human management and executive leadership course.
Knowledge will be assessed through a written exam. An oral exam will take place after this to judge whether students are familiar with the most important concepts addressed in
