| Discussion of the work of Paul van Ostaijen, one of the most influential voices in 20th-century Dutch literature. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| Extending the knowledge of the political, historical and cultural context of modern Dutch literature. Improving the students' skills at literary analysis. |

| A good command of written and spoken Dutch. |

| Introduction to Van Ostaijen's life and work. Analysis of a number of key texts, followed by public discussions. |
