Course contents :  
Discussion of the work of Paul van Ostaijen, one of the most influential voices in 20th-century Dutch literature.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Extending the knowledge of the political, historical and cultural context of modern Dutch literature. Improving the students' skills at literary analysis.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
A good command of written and spoken Dutch.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Introduction to Van Ostaijen's life and work. Analysis of a number of key texts, followed by public discussions.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Duration and period: 30h of theory in the 1st semester.
