Course contents :  
Spanish course for beginners. Students will learn the Spanish language through the study of thematic units and will practice the four main language skills (writing, reading, speaking and listening). Grammatical structures will be introduced progressively. Students are expected to do the exercises at home.

Learning outcomes of the course :  
- All four language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) are developed
- Acquisition of general vocabulary
- Acquisition of basic grammatical structures through grammar drills and other exercises.
- Introduction to various aspects of Spanish and Latin America cultures and civilizations with the aim of improving students' intercultural skills.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
1h30 per week, during the whole year (during first semester, thursday .1-2.30pm sm11, B31). Thorough preparation is required so as to enable students to progress regularly. Students who, for some VALID reason, can't come to class regularly must get in touch with their teacher as soon as possible
Recommended or required readings :  
Reader in Myulg / eCampus. A small French-Spanish/Spanish-French dictionary is recommended.

50% written exam50% oral exam

Organizational remarks :  
La présence au cours est OBLIGATOIRE. L'étudiant absent à plus de 30% des séances avec ou sans justification est irrecevable à présenter l'examen. Cette irrecevabilité est d'application non seulement pour l'examen de 1 ère session mais aussi pour celui de la seconde session. L'étudiant est, en conséquent, noté « absent » ou « excusé» pour l'ensemble du cours.
 
Le stage organisé dans le cadre du cursus n'entre pas en ligne de compte pour le calcul des 30%.
